An honest woodcutter and a fairy story

There lived a poor woodcutter in a village. He was very honest and would run his family whatever he earned by selling wood in the market. One day while cutting tree his axe fell into the water of the river. The water was very deep. The Woodcutter did not know how to swim or dive. So he was sitting there sadly thinking about his misfortune. Because he had only one axe to cut wood. Then a wonderful thing happened. A beautiful fairy appeared before the Woodcutter. The Woodcutter could not believe his eyes.

He felt a little bit nervous. Breaking the silence the fairy asked him in a sweet voice why he was looking so sad. Why he was not cutting wood. The Woodcutter informed the fairy about the cause of his pensiveAn honest woodcutter

mood. Oh, I see, saying this, the fairy dived into the water and came with the axe of gold and asked if it was his axe. The woodcutter said that it was not his exe. Again the fairy showed him another which was

made of silver asked him the same question. The answer of the woodcutter was also negative. Now the fairy showed him the original axe of the woodcutter. The woodcutter became happy to see his own axe. The fairy was very pleased with the woodcutter for his honesty. So she gave him the gold and the Silver axes too as reward honesty. The woodcutter became very happy getting all the axes.
